"Paycheck of the Future" & "Planning for Retirement" Mini Sessions: SEE DESCRIPTION!

Take in two 30-minute mini sessions from the Minnesota TRA! Attendees are welcome to attend the full session from 3:30-4:30, or attend the section most relevant to you!

3:30-4pm: PLANNING FOR RETIREMENT
Our “Planning for Retirement” presentation is geared toward members who are within 7 to 10 years of retirement. In this talk, we will cover such topics as High-5 salary, when to retire, choosing beneficiary coverage, acceleration, and when to apply for retirement. We will also review working after retirement, taxes, direct deposit and the documents required to process a retirement application.

4-4:30pm: PAYCHECK OF THE FUTURE
Our “Paycheck of the Future” talk is aimed at the younger or mid-career educators. We will explain how the TRA pension works with Social Security benefits to provide a solid foundation for a member’s financial future. We will describe how a defined benefit plan like TRA is calculated. We will also discuss leaves of absence, beneficiary coverage while working, voluntary savings plans and the benefit options upon retirement.
